Associaton with the Toitū Otago Settlers Museum
We are very lucky to be able to use the resources of the Toitū OSM Education Officer, who in turn has LEOTC funding to provide experiences for school children when they are visiting both the Garden and the Toitū Otago Settlers’ Museum. School groups interested in spending time at the Garden can contact:
- Sara Sinclair, Education Officer
Toitū Otago Settlers' Museum
Sara can tailor programmes that will work with your existing curriculum, through a variety of mediums. Her programmes at Toitū OSM are free and a visit to the Garden with activities incurs a cost of $2 per child with adult helpers free of charge.
The Chinese Garden has been working with the Toitū Otago Settlers’ Museum and the Taieri Gorge Railway to offer a day package for school children which would include all three activities. If you are interested in finding out more about what we can offer as a Day Trip, please make contact with:
- Kim Conroy, Dunedin Chinese Garden: email@example.com
- Sara Sinclair, Toitū Otago Settlers Museum: firstname.lastname@example.org
- Louise Burnside, Taieri Gorge Railway: email@example.com
Normal admission for children over 13 years is $6.00 (our student rate). Groups who book through the Toitū OSM Education Officer are charged $2.00 per child.
We can also offer discounted rates for other education groups. Please enquire at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you are bringing a group of children to the Garden, please make contact with us in advance to book them in. There is no extra charge for this but it helps us to prepare for such visits and we can give you useful information in advance.
Tours of the Garden are available for education purposes and we can tailor tours to suit different group needs. Please contact the Garden to enquire about these and to explain what you want to achieve when bringing an educational group in to the Garden. Email email@example.com
